Volvo India, the Indian subsidiary of the Swedish automobile manufacturer Volvo has launched the V40 Cross Country in the Indian car market at a price of Rs 28,50,000. The carmaker has partnered with Bajaj Allianz insurance company to provide insurance cover for the car model.
The V40 hatchback car model is equipped with a turbocharged T5 five-cylinder engine enabling the car to go from 0-96.5 kilometers in 6.1 seconds. The diesel engine of the Cross Country car offers 148 bhp of power and 35.7 kilograms of torque at 350Nm.
The security features included in the V40 Cross Country hatchback are front, curtain and knee airbags along with ABS+EBD and traction control. The car model also includes ESP and City Safety Braking.
Also, the Swedish carmaker Volvo has set a target of increasing its sales in India by about 50 percent in the fiscal 2013-14. The carmaker also plans to launch the S60 and the XC60 car models in the Indian car market by the month of October 2013.
