Mercedes-Benz India, the Indian subsidiary of the German luxury car manufacturer Mercedes Benz has launched the S Class sedan in India. The new luxury sedan car model has been introduced at a price of Rs 1.57 crore (ex-showroom Delhi). The S-Class is equipped with a 4.6 liter V8 engine and clocks a top speed of 250 kilometers per hour.
The new luxury sedan model has been launched in India three months after its global launch in October 2013. According to Mercedes-Benz India Managing Director and CEO Mr. Eberhard Kern, the carmaker will initially be selling the S-Class as a completely built unit in India and will commence the local assembly of the car later in 2014.
Mr. Kern stated that 125 units of the launch edition of the new car model have already been sold out and the bookings for the locally assembled S Class have been opened.
