Mercedes-Benz India, the Indian arm of the German luxury automobile manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the premium sports utility vehicle GL-Class in India at a price of Rs 77,50,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).
The German luxury carmaker expects to strengthen its presence in the Indian automobile industry with the launch of the GL-Class SUV. With the aim of connecting better with the Indian customers, Mercedes-Benz has roped in former tennis star and its global brand ambassador Boris Becker for the promotion of its auto products in India. According to Mr. Eberhard Kern Managing Director and CEO Mercedes Benz India, the year 2013 is the year of offensive for the company.
Initially, 100 units of the GL-Class SUV will be imported and the assembling of the vehicles will begin from September 2013 onwards at its facility in Chakan near Pune.
