Volvo Auto India, the Indian arm of the Swedish carmaker Volvo has inaugurated its first car showroom in Bangalore. The new showroom by Volvo is spread over an area of 7,000 square feet and is equipped with all necessary tools as well as spare parts.
According to Mr. Tomas Ernberg Managing Director Volvo Auto India, the year 2013 has been favorable to the carmaker. Volvo India began the year 2013 with record sales growth of 188 percent. The carmaker sold a total of 276 units in the January – March quarter in 2013.
Commenting on the opening of Volvo’s first dealership in Bangalore, Mr. Ernberg stated that the company will continue to expand its dealership network in India. He added that the carmaker plans to increase the number of dealerships to 12 with the inauguration of 3 new showrooms in the current quarter April – June 2013.
