    General Motors India to resume Sail car production in July 2013

    General Motors India, the Indian arm of the American automobile giant General Motors (GM) has announced that it will be resuming the production of the diesel version of the Sail compact car and the Sail sedan by the end of July 2013.

    The production of the Sail diesel car models was suspended by the carmaker in the month of June 2013 due certain quality issues. Production of the Tavera BS III multi-purpose vehicle which was also suspended by the carmaker, will also resume.

    While production of the Sail diesel car models will commence by the end of July 2013, production of the Tavera MPV will begin by the end of August 2013, stated Mr. P Balendran, Vice President General Motors India.
