BMW India, the Indian arm of the German luxury car manufacturer BMW has launched a diesel version of the X5 luxury sports utility vehicle for the Indian auto market at a price of Rs 70,90,000.
The new X5 SUV is now being produced locally in India at its production plant in Chennai. The luxury car is currently facing a three month waiting period due to a high demand.
According to Mr. Philipp von Sahr President BMW Group India, the 3rd generation of the X5 SUV has received positive response in the Indian luxury car market. The automaker is thus also considering ramping up the production of the car model.
The carmaker expects the new SUV version to bolster its sales in the Indian luxury car segment.
