Renault India, the Indian subsidiary of the French automaker Renault has introduced a new diesel variant of the Fluence premium sedan at a price of Rs 15,20,000 (Ex-showroom Delhi). The new sedan is powered by a 1.5 liter diesel engine and offers a mileage of 20.4 kilometer per liter.
The premium sedan will be compete with other sedans car models in the price bracket of Rs 15,22,000 – Rs 16,41,000 such as the Skoda Laura, the Volkswagen Jetta and the Toyota Corolla Diesel. According to Mr. Marc Nassif Renault India Managing Director, the new upgraded sedan has been launched after duly studying the feedbacks from customers.
The company in addition to the Fluence sedan has the SUV Koleos and the premium hatchback Pulse in its car portfolio in India. Mr. Nassif states that the company has plans to launch the crossover Duster by the end of 2012. Renault India aims to achieve sales of 30,000 units in 2012, up from 1,500 units sold in 2011. The dealership network will also be expanded from 43 to 100 in the year 2012 in order to push sales and increase its presence in India.
