Tata Motors is engaged in replacing a suspension part in the Manza sedan without any charge to the customers. The part being replaced is a plastic component known as an anti-roll bar bush which prevents friction between two moving metal parts and enables stability to the vehicle while being driven. According to a Tata Motors official, the part is being replaced by a sturdier material for better sustainability.
The exercise will encompass all the Manza cars sold till date since the launch of the sedan in October 2009. The company has refrained from calling it a recall since it is not recalling the sedan car model but is replacing the part as and when a Manza is brought in for servicing by the customers.
A similar exercise was initiated by the company in 2011 when it replaced the starter motor of its small car Nano free of cost.
