Volvo Car India has launched the luxury SUV’s top-of-the-line variant Volvo XC90 Excellence Hybrid for the Indian market at Rs. 1.25 crore (ex-Showroom, New Delhi). The car will be imported to India as a CBU. This XC90 T8 Excellence is the first big SUV to get a plug-in hybrid variant in India and it has received about 50 pre-orders also.
Volvo XC90 Excellence Hybrid technical details:
The Volvo XC90 Excellence is powered the T8 Twin-Engine Plug-in Hybrid Electric powertrain which combines 2.0-litre supercharged and turbocharged petrol engine + 9.2kWh Lithium-ion battery. The Hybrid SUV offers 412 bhp of combined power output and 650Nm of maximum torque and mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The car will go to 0-100 kmph in 5.6 seconds and the company claimed fuel economy of 47.6kmpl. The hybrid XC90 can charge within 150 minutes and get two charging stations also.
The biggest change on the inside is that the Hybrid XC90 is a 4-seater as opposed to the current 7-seater version. Otherwise the car retained similar features from the existing variants.
