Volkswagen India, the Indian subsidiary of the German automaker Volkswagen has unveiled the Indian Premier League (IPL) editions of the Vento sedan and the Polo hatchback ahead of the Indian Premier League 2012, the Twenty20 cricket competition scheduled to begin April 4, 2012. The IPL editions of the car models have been launched to attract cricket fans and include various authentic IPL goodies.
In select variants of the IPL editions, the company is offering gizmo features such an interactive car pad with multimedia entertainment system that also features navigation and social networking options. Also a part of the IPL editions will be dual tone leatherette seat covers, special floor mats and door sill design with regards to the interiors as well IPL branding on the boot of the cars.
According to Mr. Neeraj Garg Director and Member of Board with Volkswagen Passenger Cars, the company decided to launch the IPL editions based on the favorable response to its similar stunt in the year 2011 with the Vento sedan. Therefore, it has included the Polo hatchback in the launch of the IPL editions. Moreover, these special edition car models will come with the same price tag as the standard models.
The IPL edition of the Vento and the Polo are on display at the company showrooms and will hit the markets in April 2012.
