    carsBy carsJuly 30, 2009Updated:July 11, 20267 Comments2 Mins Read

2009 Rolls RoyceThe United Kingdom’s Rolls Royce Motor Company is beginning to recognise India as an increasingly significant market for its custom built luxury cars. The company’s Chief Executive, Tom Purves, said that he expects India to become the single most important market for Rolls Royce in the next 5-10 years. The country is the second fastest growing economy in the world. Rolls Royce, which custom builds its cars at its facility in Goodwood, UK, is also considering sourcing components from India. It will use parent company BMW’s supplier network in India for this purpose. The company, which re-entered India in 2005,Β  expects the country’s contribution to its sales tally to go up to 50 cars, after the launch of the Rolls Royce Ghost. Purves said that the market for his cars is slowly shifting from countries in the west to countries in the east like India and China.
