The American car maker, Ford has just launched the second generation Endeavour in India. Prices for the car range between Rs 24.75 lakh and Rs. 29.46 lakh as there is a choice of two engine options – a 2.2 litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine and a 3.2 litre 5-cylinder turbocharged diesel unit. The 2.2 litre engine is available with a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox, with rear-wheel drive, while the 3.2 litre unit comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
The 2.2 litre engine is rated at 158bhp and 385Nm of torque. Fuel efficiency for the manual model as per ARAI is rated at 14.12kmpl while the automatic is rated at 12.62kmpl. The more powerful Endeavour 3.2 litre engine has a power output of 197bhp and 470Nm. The ARAI rated fuel efficiency of this model is rated at 10.91kmpl. The 3.2 model comes with a Terrain Management System that comes with five driving modes – Normal, Sand, Rock, Low-range and Sand, Mud, and Grass, that allows drivers to choose the appropriate driving mode according to the terrain.
