American car maker Ford has confirmed that they are going to launch the Mustang this month. The car had been spotted testing on Indian roads quite a while ago, but now Ford has confirmed its launch ahead of the 2016 Auto Expo. The Mustang GT which will make its way to India will be powered by the famed 5.0 litre naturally aspirated V8 petrol engine developing 437bhpcand 541Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters, and power is sent to the rear wheels.
The sixth generation Ford Mustang is underpinned by fully independent front and rear suspension. Althoug, the Mustang is available in coupe and convertible forms internationally, for India, only the coupe model will be available. The car is expected to be priced in the range of Rs70 – 80 lakh. At that price, there is no direct competition for the Mustang in India and will make for a very tempting proposition for interested buyers.
