    Mercedes Benz India to double production with second plant

    Mercedes Benz India, the Indian subsidiary of the German luxury automobile manufacturer Mercedes Benz is expected to commence operations at its second manufacturing plant which is in its final stages of completion.

    The new plant will enable the carmaker to double its production in India and meet the rise in demand for its car models. According to Mr. Boris Fitz Vice President (Sales and Network Development) Mercedes-Benz India, the second plant will soon get all approvals and will soon be ready for use.

    The current production of the carmaker is 10,000 units while the second plant will increase the production to 20,000 units per annum.

    Mr. Fitz stated that the carmaker expects to witness double digit growth in the current year 2014.
