Honda Cars India, the wholly owned subsidiary of the Japanese automobile major Honda has announced that it will be recalling 1,085 units of the Accord premium sedan and the 252 units of the CR-V sports utility vehicle in India for preventive part replacement.
The part to be replaced in the recalled cars will the passenger seat air bag inflator with respect to a potential defect in the component in the car models that belong to the manufacturing year 2003 and one unit from the year 2002.
The recall is part of the carmaker’s global exercise which was announced in June 2014. According to a statement from the automaker, the inflator component in the cars may get damaged when deployed in case of an accident and may cause injury to the occupants.
