Ford India introduced a new version of its SUV, the Ford Endeavour, this week. The vehicle sports a new, contemporary look and is available in two variants. The 3.0 L, 4X4, automatic transmission variant is priced at Rs 17.99 lakh, while the 2.5 L, 4X2, manual transmission variant is priced at Rs 15.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The Endeavour’s new design elements include a multi-bar chrome grille and a chrome-accented lower grille combined with wraparound headlamps. It also features new 16-inch alloy wheels. Scott Ferrier, the Design Manager of Ford Motor Company (Africa and Asia-Pacific), said that the design of the new Endeavour builds on the vehicle’s inherent strengths – its capability and robust feel. He said that while a number of contemporary style elements have been added to the SUV, what is significant is that its USPs remain the same.
The redesigned Endeavour will help Ford India compete with Toyota Kirloskar Motor, which recently launched the Fortuner. The Fortuner may soon race past the Endeavour and dominate the SUV segment in the country, considering the number of bookings it received straight after launch.
