Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI) launched a new version of the Honda Civic this week. The new Civic is available in three variants and comes with restyled exteriors and an upgraded audio system with a USB port. It also features an Intelligent Fuel Economy Indicator, which helps the driver achieve optimum fuel economy. Out of the three variants β SMT, VMT and VAT, the latter two have a steering-mounted cruise control system. Honda officials say that the 1.8 litre i-VTEC engine in the new Civic is the most advanced in the segment. Hondaβs i-VTEC – Intelligent Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control technology, works along with VTC – Variable Time Control, to ensure both high fuel-efficiency, and top-class performance. All three variants come in two versions βElegance and Inspire. Safety features like ABS with EBD & Brake Assist, Dual SRS airbags and pre-tensioner seat belts are standard across all variants. Mr. Masahiro Takagawa, HSCI President and CEO, said at the launch occasion that the Civic was already the most refined and advanced car in its segment, and that its new avatar would help the company carry the legacy forward.
