BMW India, the Indian arm of the German luxury automobile manufacturer BMW has launched an upgraded version the Series 5 car model in the Indian luxury segment. The entry level price for the Series 5 car model is Rs 46,90,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) while the top end model is available for Rs 57,90,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).
The new Series 5 is sixth generation of the BMW Series 5 and one of the core models in BMW’s product portfolio for the Indian market, states Mr. Philipp von Sahr President BMW Group India. More than 10,00,000 units of the Series 5 have been sold by the carmaker since its launch in the year 2009.
Mr. Sahr also commented about the market condition in India and stated that the carmaker has been affected due to the low consumer sentiments and sluggish sales.
The German carmaker also launched the Series 1 car model in the Indian auto market recently in the month of September 2013, foraying into the Indian compact luxury car segment.
