Mercedes-Benz India today launched two new variants of its most popular car in India, the E-Class. The two new variants launched are the E 230 and the E 220 CDI.

“The E-Class has sold more than 10,000 units in India since its introduction in 1995. Now the product becomes even more enticing with introduction of the new Bi-Xenon headlamps in the exterior coupled with a 3-way Memory package and electrically adjustable steering wheel, all of which are now standard with the vehicle. The two new engines will further add to the popularity of the E-Class.” commented Dr. Wilfried Aulbur, Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India.

The E-Class has been the mainstay of the Mercedes-Benz brand in India. The first car to be locally produced in was an E-Class (1995), the 20,000th vehicle to roll off the assembly line at the Mercedes-Benz plant (2008) was also an E-Class. “The reliability and quality of our E-Class has been a key aspect driving the demand for this product in India. It proves the adage- ‘Drive an E-Class and you will drive it forever'” commented Mr. Sanjiv Sahajwala, Director, Sales and Marketing, Mercedes-Benz India.

The E 230 is priced at: Rs. 41.44 lakhs, ex-showroom Mumbai and the E 220 CDI is priced at: Rs. 38.99 lakhs, ex-showroom Mumbai.
