Market sources say that the premium automaker Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) is working on the possible options for the compact car models for the Indian market.
These cars, sedan or hatchback, is going to be powered with the 1.1 liter and 1.3 liter engines. The first new model from the company is likely to be a petrol sedan with a 1.3-litre engine which would compete in the segment consisting of Suzuki Dzire, Ford Fiesta and Hyundai Verna. While the hatchback would compete with Hyundai Getz and Suzuki Swift.
The company is also said to be working on a diesel version of its popular sedan Corolla.
The SUV Fortuner from Toyota is also rumored to be coming to the Indian market next year at a price tag of around Rs 15 lakhs.
