Yamaha have just released images of their all-new 700cc Sport Tourer called the Tracer. This new model is a smaller version to the already available three-cylinder 900cc MT-09 Tracer. Essentially, it is an MT-07 with the styling and ergonomics of an adventure motorcycle. The same 75bhp twin-cylinder engine from the MT-07 powers the Tracer 700, but the dimensions have slightly changes as the new model getsa 50mm longer swingarm to give a wheelbase of 1450mm. This will allow for better stability when touring with extra luggage and a pillion rider. One of the highlights of the Tracer 700 is that it’s a light bike for this segment at just 196kg.

The Tracer uses a compact and lightweight chassis, which features a tubular steel frame that has been developed from the highly acclaimed MT-07 platform. The Tracer 700 also comes with 245mm rear disc brakes that deliver powerful and responsive braking performance, and most importantly, ABS is equipped as standard. There is no word on an Indian arrival anytime soon, but with a growing presence of mid-range sport-tourers already available in the country, and the fact that Yamaha have already launched the MT-09 in India, there is a very good chance that Yamaha will decide to bring the Tracer 700 to India in the near future.
