Auto giant, Volkswagen plans to make a small car based in and for India. This car will be rolled out from in its new facility in Chakan near Pune in 2010.
The design would be speacially for India and would be under the Volkswagen brand of cars. It would also have a large content of local components.
Volkswagen also plans to bring a hatchback and a sedan based on the ‘Polo’ platform in India. The hatchback will be in Fabia’s segment while the sedan will compete with the popular Honda City.
