    BMW to bring hybrid cars to India

    Luxury car maker, BMW plans to bring its hybrid car to India.

    BMW Senior Vice-President, Asia Pacific (excluding China) and South Africa, Mr. David Panton said in a statement that in the next 18 months the hybrid vehicle from BMW will make its international debut and there is a possibility that it could find its way to India.

    BMW has had a successful stint in India and they have raised their sales target by 40 percent to 2,800 cars in 2008.

    The company could bring the hybrid model to India in the next 18-24 months. BMW is developing their hybrid vehicle under its EfficientDynamics programme. They had showcased the ConceptX6 ActiveHybrid at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show.
