Toyota Kirloskar Motor, the Indian arm of the Japanese automaker Toyota is planning to increase its operations in the North East Indian auto market. The carmaker has been witnessing a significant growth of 6 percent in its sales in the region.
The 6 percent growth in the region has been double the national average of 3 percent annually.
According to N Raja Senior Vice President and Director (Sales and Marketing) Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), the North East auto market contributes to 20 percent of the sales from the Eastern auto market in India and thus is a significant region for Toyota.
The carmaker sold a total of 11,215 units in the month of August 2014, a 6.6 percent decline in comparison to 12,007 units sold in the same month in 2013.
