The electric car makers based out of California, Tesla seems to be doing very well, despite the fact that Mercedes-Benz recently sold of its 4 percent share in the company. Their sales are increasing and their cars are being offered in more markets across the globe. But the recent news form Tesla seems to be very exciting indeed, and the company has just revealed its latest Model S badged as the P85D.

This new Model S will be the most powerful car from Tesla and will also feature and all-wheel drive system. This is possible because of a dual electric motor configuration after installing a 211bhp front motor, which works together with the 470bhp rear one in order to enable the high-performance Model S to produce a combined output of 691bhp and 930 Nm of torque. Thanks to this arrangement, the new Model S can race from 0-100kmph in just 3.2 seconds. The car can also reach a top speed of 250kmph and travel for a range of 443km before running out of electric power. Visually the new car is exactly the same as the original Model S, and the only way to notice the difference is from the P85D badge at the rear. The car also features a semi-autonomous driving system which uses optical cameras to scan the road up ahead. It also has a 360-degree sonar to detect traffic and barricades and will come to a full stop if the traffic in front slows down completely. Tesla surely has gotten our attention and this car is a great example of the future of all-electric drive trains.
