Your wait for Tata Motors’ little wonder – the Tata Nano, will soon get over. Or at least the booking part of it! Tata dealerships across the country, along with about 100 SBI branches, will be accepting bookings for the car by the end of February. The booking sum is Rs. 70,000. Tata Motors is expecting over 1 lakh bookings in the initial few weeks, which means a quick 700 crore income for the company.
The initial production of the Nano will happen at Tata Motors’ Pantanagar facility in Uttarakhand, which has a measly 3,000 unit production capacity. The Sanand plant will take another year to be operational. This means, sadly, that those waiting for the car, may yet have to wait a long time before they can finally drive one.
