Mahindra & Mahindra has launched the refreshed version of its most popular SUV Scorpio in India at starting price Rs. 7.98 lakh in ex-showroom Delhi. The new Mahindra Scorpio 2014 is available in five choice of standard variants namely S2, S4, S6, S8 and top end variant S10 . The top variant S10 is available at Rs. 11.46 lakh and Rs. 13.05 lakh with 4WD, so price wise it compared with similar segment Toyota Innova, Tata Safari Storme and crossover Renault Duster RxZ models.

The new Mahindra Scorpio 2014 gets a new designed bumper, new front grille and redesigned projector headlamps with LED daytime-running lights, new clutch, highly refined engine, a new front suspension, antilock braking system (ABS) and front axle disconnect. The redesigned rear bumper, new LED tail-lights and roof-mounted rear spoiler and also company claimed its new five-speed manual transmission to improve gearbox shifts. The new multi tuning shock absorbers result in a more comfortable ride.
In-terms of interior changes it gets a new touchscreen infotainment system, horizontal AC vents, climate control and new instrument cluster. The steering wheel fully inspired by XUV 500.
The new Mahindra Scorpio 2014 technical:
Mechanically it has no change, carried the same 2.2-litre mHAWK and 2.5-litre m2DiCr diesel engines.
The S2 base variant is powered by m2DICR 4 cyl 2.5-litres 4 stroke, Turbocharged, Direct Injection, Common Rail diesel engines which producing 75 bhp of power @ 3200 rpm and 200 Nm of maximum torque @ 1400-2200 rpm. While the other variants are carrying the mHawk 4 cylinder engine, variable geometry turbocharger with intercooler, 4-valves per cylinder and Common Rail Direct Injection technology. Company claimed 15.37 kmpl of certified mileage.
