Mercedes GLA-Class – a compact luxury crossover launched in India at a starting price of Rs. 32.75 lakh in ex-showroom, Delhi. Company had already started bookings for the GLA and it has already received confirmed bookings of 600 units in just 18 days before launch. It is based on the same front-wheel-drive MFA architecture as the A-class hatchback and it will compete against with the same segment cars likes Audi Q3, BMW X1 and Land Rover Evoque.

The Mercedes GLA-Class is available in both petrol 2.0-litre, and 2.2- litre diesel engine options. The Mercedes GLA 200 is powered by a 2.0-litre Inline, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that producing 183.5PS of power @ 5500 rpm and 300 Nm of torque between 1200 – 1400 rpm, while the diesel variant GLA 200 CDI is available with 2.2-litre inline, 4-cylinder engine with latest generation of common rail direct injection that delivers 136 PS of power @ 3600 – 4400 rpm and 300 Nm of torque @ 1600 – 3000 rpm. It has 225 kmph of top speed and it can accelerate from 0 to 100 in just 7.6 seconds with petrol engine and 205 top speed for diesel engine which can go 0-100 kmph in just 9.9 seconds.
The Petrol engine gives an ARAI certified mileage of 13.7 kmpl while the diesel engine claims 17.7 kmpl of fuel efficiency. The Mercedes GLA-Class both variants are coupled with a 7G-DCT dual clutch automatic transmission which is consists of two sub-transmissions, each with its own clutch. The transmission has capacity to fast, smooth gear-shifting without any interruptions in tractive power.
