Mercedes India has launched an S-Class diesel variant called S 350 CDI which is available at priced at Rs. 1.07 crores ex-Showroom at Pune. It is locally assembled at Chakan plant of Mercedes India through CKD (Completely Knocked Down) unit and first time ever company will assemble the body of the S-Class in India. Mercedes-Benz dealers have started booking at a price of Rs. 5 Lakh. It will compete against Jaguar XJ 3.0L, BMW 7 Series 730 Ld and the 2014 Audi A8 3.0L.
This variant is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine that generates 254hp of power @ 3,600 rpm and 620 Nm of maximum torque at 1,600-2,400 rpm. The vehicle will be mated with to a 7G-Tronic Plus automatic transmission and it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.8 seconds and a top-speed is 250 km/h with 16.66 km/l mileage in the EU driving tests.
The S 350 has almost the same feature as the S 500 variant but company cut few features like the 3D surround sound system, Nappa leather, night vision system and cup-holder with heat/cool system.
