German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz on August 10, 2011, launched the new SLK 350 in India. The car comes at a price tag of Rs. 61,90,000 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The roadster will be exported to India as a completely built unit (CBU) and would be available in V6 petrol version alone. Mercedesβ latest design philosophy is reflected in more upright front grille for its exterior, while its interiors are inspired from SLS AMG. The inside of the car has an angular new dashboard with prominent round air conditioning vents and a newly designed gear box.
SLK 350 comes with a 7-speed automatic gearbox and its 3.5 litre engine churns out 306 bhp. The carβs distinctive feature is its hard top roof which seamlessly folds into the boot. SLK 350 offers its users the option of either a transparent or a darkened roof.
Commenting on the launch of SLK 350, Mercedez-Benz India Director, Sales and Marketing, Debashis Mitra said that the company is hopeful of boosting its sales and better the number of 3-4 cars a month in 2010.
