General Motors on August 10, 2011, launched Chevrolet Beat Diesel in Bangalore (India). Chevrolet Beat is the only car in the world to have a one litre diesel engine in its belly. With an average of 24 kmpl, the company is marketing the car as the most efficient vehicle to be ever launched on the Indian roads.
Developed by company’s technical center based out of Bangalore, the car has a common rail direct injection XSDE SMARTECH engine. The Diesel Beat is similar to its petrol counterpart in terms of its external looks, but what distinguishes it is its new three cylinder 936cc DOHC engine. The car which is available in four variants churns 58.5 PS with 4000 rpm and 150 Nm torque at 1750 rpm. The car is priced between the price range of Rs.4,35,000 and Rs.5,53,000.
