Mercedes Benz India, the Indian arm of the German luxury automobile manufacturer Mercedes Benz has launched the SLK 55 AMG luxury two seater car model in the Indian car market. The new car model has been priced at Rs 1.26 crore and is powered by a 5.5 liter V8 petrol engine.
The new car model SLK 55 AMG is the carmaker’s eighth product launch in India in the year 2013. Mr. Eberhard Kern Managing Director and CEO Mercedes Benz India stated that the German automaker plans to bring its entire range of AMG products to India and the SLK 55 AMG is the beginning of an offensive strategy by the carmaker for the Indian luxury car market.
Other car models launched in India by the automaker include the compact luxury car A-Class, B-Class and the GL-Class which mark the carmaker’s focus on the compact luxury car segment with the aim to garner more sales and expand its footprint in the Indian luxury car segment.
