Maruti Suzuki, the largest car manufacturer in India has announced that it received 3,000 bookings for the newly launched sedan Ciaz car model within three days of the opening of bookings for the Indian car market.
The Ciaz competes with the Honda City sedan in the sedan segment of the Indian car market. The carmaker has received 10,000-12,000 enquiries for the new sedan which will start getting delivered to customers by October 2014.
According to the company, the booking response for the Ciaz is good, however, it’s too early to state anything concrete and that the initial numbers may not reflect the long term sales potential.
The new Ciaz sedan has been developed with an investment of Rs 620 crore, the highert investment on a product by Maruti Suzuki, and is targeted at Indian and Chinese markets.
