Maruti Suzuki India, the largest car manufacturer in India has posted a growth of 4.6 percent in its sales for the month of September 2014. The carmaker sold a total of 1,09,742 units in the month in comparison to 1,04,964 units sold in the same month in 2013.
The domestic sales of the carmaker in the month stood at 99,290 units, a hike of 9.8 percent in comparison to 90,399 units sold in September 2013.
The increment in sales was led by the compact segment of the carmaker including the Swift and the Ritz hatchback and the DZire compact sedan which reported a growth of 18.1 percent. The mini car segment including the Alto, the A-Star and the WagonR on the other hand witnessed a decline of 13.4 percent.
