Maruti Suzuki India and Hyundai India, the top car manufacturers in India are in the process of ramping up exports to global markets with the aim of further strengthening their global presence and balancing uncertainties in the domestic market.
The Indian automobile industry has been through a rough patch in the fiscal 2013-14. Increasing their export volumes will enable the carmakers to ensure an alternate source of maintaining a steady flow of revenue and profits.
Maruti Suzuki currently ships car models to more than 100 countries. It however registered a decline of 15 percent in the fiscal 2013-14 and is looking at targeting new developing auto markets. Hyundai India is also planning to increase its export portfolio with new car models with the aim of strengthening its position as the largest car exporter in India.
