    Maruti Ritz, S-Cross base and Celerio Diesel discontinued in India

    Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) has stopped selling of its popular hatchback cars Ritz in domestic and international markets. The Ritz was launched in 2009 with petrol and diesel engine, and the company has sold over 4 lakh units since launched. Company spokesperson said that for the next 10 years is to ensure the availability of spare parts and service for Ritz.

    The Maruti Ritz was available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol Ritz has the 1.2-liter K-Series engine that generate 87 PS of power and 114 Nm of torque, while the diesel Ritz is powered by 1.3-liter DDiS engine technology that produces 75 PS of power and 190 Nm of torque.

    Maruti Suzuki S-Cross base variant discontinued

    Last month, the Maruti Suzuki India has discontinued the base variant of the large premium crossover S-Cross 1.6 Delta and Zeta. These are the lower-end variants of the crossover with the bigger 1.6-litre diesel engine. So now after the discontinuation of these variants, the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross is now available at the lower end with the basic 1.3-litre diesel engine and the 1.6-litre unit will be reserved for the top-end S-Cross Alpha variant. This premium crossover was launched in India in 2015, and the first model to be available at through Maruti Suzuki’s Nexa showrooms.

    Maruti Suzuki Celerio diesel discontinued

    It is believed that the diesel variants of Celerio also closed by the company because it is not available on the company’s official website, only the petrol and CNG versions of Celerio are visible. But the company has not made any official statement about this model.

    In 2016, a sale of Celerio is substantial. The company has sold 90 thousand units of the car and most of sales registered for the petrol and CNG variants. The AMG version demand is highest.
