This one we have been waiting for a while now, and finally the British luxury car maker has brought it forward for us to see. Some instant changes you might recognize on the already attractive design are the new front bumper, aerodynamic sideskirts, and a spoiler. But it also gets a ventilated hood, a 4 tailpipe exhaust system and 20inch alloy wheels. The first ‘R’ model in the latest generation of the XJ range, and the latest in a long line of high-performance, luxurious Jaguar sports saloons, the XJR incorporates bespoke chassis and aerodynamic developments to create the most focused, agile and responsive member of the XJ family.
Seamless performance is provided by a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine that boasts 550bhp and 680Nm. Combined with an eight-speed transmission that extends the performance characteristics of the car, the XJR is capable of accelerating from zero to 100kmph in 4.6 seconds. The settings for the active electronic differential and Dynamic Stability Control system have been calibrated in order to allow the enthusiastic driver to make the most of the huge performance potential of the XJR. In addition, the steering hydraulics and calibration have been engineered to enhance steering feel, response and feedback under all driving conditions. The XJR promises to be a very exciting car indeed.
