Hyundai Motors India Limited (HMIL) is targeting to sell 12,000 units per month of its recently launched small car the Eon. The company has already received 7,500 bookings for the Eon which was launched on October 13, 2011. Apart from targeting the domestic market, HMIL is also hoping for a steep overseas profit curve.
Speaking to the reporters at the launch of the Eon in Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Arvind Saxena, Director, Sales and Marketing, Hyundai Motors India Limited, stated there was a high demand for small cars in India. Commenting about companyโs future plans, Mr. Saxena commented, โThe Company has plans to roll out at least two models each year beginning 2012 addressing aspirations of different consumer sections. While there is no plan for diesel engine option in the Eon, we may consider bringing in more variants possibly LPG and CNG.โ
The Eon is expected to take on the Maruti Alto, the Nano and the Chevrolet Spark.
