Honda India has announced that its manufacturing plant at Greater Noida has resumed normal production level and is currently operating with two shifts. By March 2012, the company plans on achieving optimum production output. The Indian subsidiary of the Japanese auto major Honda, Honda Siel Cars India Limited has been facing production crisis since November 2011 owing to component supply disruption as a result of floods in Thailand.

The company has been making efforts to normalize production by identifying alternative sourcing for component supply from Japan and China and has finally revived the normal production level, says Mr. Jnaneswar Sen Honda Siel Cars India Senior Vice-President (Marketing & Sales).

Mr. Sen states that the company is ramping up production with a view to clear the backlog bookings for the newly launched hatchback Brio by March 2012. The production of the Brio will commence from mid February 2012 and a comprehensive communication campaign will be launched in order to make the customers aware of the availability of the new car and to provide them a touch and feel experience through various activities at the dealerships.

The company resumed the production of the City sedan in January 2012 producing 1,500 units in the month. The production of the Jazz premium hatchback will commence from the end of February 2012.
