BMW India, the Indian arm of the German luxury automobile manufacturer BMW has launched the new BMW 1 Series in the Indian luxury auto market at an entry level price of Rs 20,90,000 and ranging up to Rs 29,90,000.
The BMW 1 Series offers both petrol and diesel engine options and is locally produced at the company’s Chennai plant. The hatchback car model features an 8-speed automatic transmission and a top speed of 212 kilometers per hour. The diesel version offers a mileage of 20.58 kilometers per liter while the petrol engine offers a mileage of 16.28 kilometers per liter.
The new car also packs new safety features such as six airbags, impact absorbing front and rear bumpers, dynamic stability control, BMW restraint system and run-flat tyres.
The cockpit of the BMW 1 Series has been angled towards the driver seat to enable the driver with effective personal control and comfort. The rear and luggage space offer flexibility where the rear seats can be adjusted to make more room in the luggage compartment.
