Audi India, the Indian arm of the German luxury automobile manufacturer Audi is planning to launch the A3 luxury sedan in India by mid 2014. The carmaker expects the new upcoming sedan to bolster its sales in the Indian luxury car market.
According to Mr. Joe King Head Audi India, the new A3 sedan has the potential to boost the carmaker’s sales and strengthen its position in the Indian luxury segment. He added that the automaker has achieved new sales records across 40 global auto markets. For the Indian car market, the German automaker became the first luxury car manufacturer to cross the milestone of 10,000 unit annual sales.
Mr. King stated that the carmaker expects the Indian arm of Audi to contribute significantly to its global sales. Commenting about the new A3 sedan, he said that the new luxury sedan has the potential to become the largest selling luxury sedan in India. The A3 will be positioned between the compact luxury hatchback and the entry luxury sedan segment.
The carmaker also plans to increase the number of Audi dealerships in India from the current number of 31 to 40 by the end of 2014.
