The Indian subsidiary of the German luxury automobile manufacturer BMW has launched the BMW 3-Series in petrol and diesel versions with a price range of Rs 28,90,000 to Rs 37,90,000 (Ex-showroom All India).
The newly launched luxury car series offers two design schemes, namely the Sport Line and Luxury Line. Mr. Andreas Schaaf President BMW Group India stated that the new launch will further strengthen the company’s position in the Indian luxury segment. The company is the current market leader in the segment with a market share of 40 percent.
Commenting on the company’s sales performance, Mr. Schaaf stated that the sales of the month of June stood at 750 units amid slowdown in the industry and high interest rates. He added that the German automaker is planning to launch 4 more cars in the year 2012-13 including the 6-Series Coupe, upgraded 7-Series and refreshed X1 and X6.
