A red Mini Coupe 1.6 was the star prize in this year’s National Motor Museum Trust Prize Draw and the lucky winner was Emily Talbot (17) from Romford, Essex. Emily bought her winning ticket during a visit to Beaulieu, while on holiday with her family in the New Forest during the summer.
At a prize giving ceremony outside Palace House, Emily was presented with the keys to her new car by the National Motor Museum’s Chief Executive, Russell Bowman. A delighted Emily said: “I will have to let my dad drive me home as I haven’t got a full driving licence yet but winning the car will certainly give me the incentive to pass my test as soon as possible.”
Peter Johnson, Dealer Principal of Barons of Farnborough, suppliers of the Mini said: “We have been delighted to support the museum and its raffle this year, Emily is joining quite an exclusive club with this new model Mini which is a perfect first car for a new driver.”
Vicky Zappia from Broadstone, Dorset, won the second prize of a seat in the 2014 London Brighton Run with a night’s accommodation in London. The third prize of a ride in the National Motor Museum’s 1909 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost and lunch in Palace House went to Lucy Milbank from Peterborough and Martin O’Toole from Chertsey received the fourth prize of a Sat Nav, donated by Garmin.
The draw raised £36,500 to further the work of the National Motor Museum Trust which is responsible for the world-renowned collection of over 250 motor vehicles and thousands of artefacts.
