Japanese automaker Toyota has announced that it will be recalling about 1,000 units of the diesel version of the premium sedan Corolla Altis sold in India to repair a reported faulty driveshaft in the car model.

The carmaker states that a potential aberration in the driveshaft in the Corolla Altis Diesel version will be inspected and repaired or replaced if required. The automaker further added that the fault is not a security concern but a precautionary measure to ensure customer satisfaction.

The overall rectification process will take about 2 hours as claimed by the company and a message regarding the same has been put up on the company website and customers will also be contacted through the internal dealer network.

The car models to be recalled by the Japanese auto manufacturer in India belong to the manufacturing period between August 3, 2012 and February 14, 2013.

Toyota operates in India in collaboration with the Kirloskar Group as Toyota Kirloskar Motor.
