Tata Motors has launched its most awaited model, the all new Tata Zest Sedan at a start price Rs. 4.64 lakh in ex-showroom, New Delhi. The Zest is available in both petrol and diesel option with three powered type engine which are now on sale across country at Tata Motors dealerships.
The Tata Zest is available in four variants in Petrol called XE, XM, XMS & XT and Diesel engine also available with same variants with an extra variant called XMA (AMT). So it is available in four trims in Petrol and five trims in Diesel. Both petrol and diesel powertrains are BS-IV compliant and are capable of meeting future norms. It will be available in 6 colours – Buzz Blue, Venetian Red, Sky Grey, Dune Beige, Platinum Silver and Pristine White.
Tata Zest Petrol engine:
The company’s newly developed Revotron 1.2T is the first engine from the new family of petrol engines which will be India’s first Turbocharged Multi-point Fuel Injection (MPFi) petrol engine. This Revotron 1.2T is powered by 1,193cc, 4-cylinder producing 90 PS of power @ 5,000rpm and 140 Nm of torque @ 1,750-3,500rpm which delivers 17.6 kmpl of mileage as per the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) certification. The unique first-in-segment Multi-Drive Mode technology has capacity to switching between SPORT, ECO and CITY mode, along with a superior throttle response. It is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and the car has a top speed of 154 kmph.
Tata Zest Diesel engine:
The Zest diesel is available in two type of powered technology. The first 1.3L Quadrajet 4-cylinder, turbocharged engine is producing 75 PS of power @ 4,000rpm and 190 Nm of torque @ 1,750-3,000rpm mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. While the second 1.3L Quadrajet 4-cylinder, turbocharged VGT diesel engine is producing 90 Ps of power and 200 Nm of torque at same rpm. But the 90PS engine has first-in-class F-Tronic transmission technology, 5-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT), with both Automatic and Sequential mode of gear-shifting, developed in collaboration with Magneti Marelli, Italy. The Diesel powered delivers 23 kmpl of mileage under mandated test km/litre in normal conditions and the car has a top speed of 158 kmph.
