The Auto Expo in January 2012 will witness a multitude of electric concept cars being showcased. Tata Motors is expected to showcase its Manza Hybrid Electric sedan concept car at the event. The concept sedan will feature lithium ion batteries similar to the Indica Electric Concept and Vista Electric Concept. The car would compete with other cars which are expected to be launched in 2012 such as the Maruti Dzire compact sedan and Mahindra Verito compact sedan.
Many of the carmakers are showcasing their electric concept cars at the Auto Expo 2012. Mahindra’s Verito Electric car will also be showcased at the event. However, given the infrastructural inadequacy in India, the Indian automobile industry is still at an underdeveloped stage to support large scale production and consumption of such electric models in India.
