Nissan India, the Indian arm of the Japanese automobile manufacturer Nissan has recently announced that it will be retailing cars online. It has furthered its activeness on online mediums by participating in the Great Online Shopping Festival 2013 (GOSF).
The move by the Japanese automaker was aimed at cashing in on the high traffic potential of the shopping festival which was organized by Google India for duration of three days from December 11 to December 13, 2013.
As part of the festival, customers were able to make payments through an online gateway and book cars with a credit or debit card. The customers who booked a car through online payment were thereafter contacted by the dealership to complete formalities and finalize the delivery.
Mr. Nitish Tipnis Director Marketing Hover Automotive India (Nissan’s sales and dealership partner in India) commented that the carmaker’s association with Google India has enabled it to provide convenient ways to purchase automobiles for Indian consumers.
