Nissan India, the Indian arm of the Japanese automobile manufacturer Nissan is planning to launch its own financial services in order to provide loans and financial benefits to the customers of its soon to be launched revived low cost brand Datsun.

The carmaker is planning to launch the Datsun brand in India by April 2014 and is looking at creating a financial arm for providing convenient financial services to the Datsun customers. According to Mr. Ajay Raghuvanshi Vice-President Business Management Nissan Motor India, the upcoming Datsun brand requires a different and a separate marketing strategy in comparison to the existing distribution and sales model. He stated that the target customers for the Datsun will be a different set of consumers from the regular Nissan customers.

The Datsun car brand will be focused at first-time car buyers who will require finance assistance for a car loan. Mr. Raghuvanshi added that the financial measures would be in place before the launch of the Datsun brand and will cater to both Nissan and Datsun customers.

With the launch of its financial services, Nissan will the join the ranks of a few other automakers who have initiated their own financial services arm such as Toyota, BMW and Mercedes. Hero MotoCorp, the largest motorcycle manufacturer in India has also ventured into the financial services sector with Hero FinCorp which offers finance options to its vendors, dealers and transporters.
