The European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP) has awarded a 5-star safety rating to the Mercedes-Benz M-Class. The globally respected testing agency tests automobiles’ safety features and their efficacy in common car accident situations. The M-Class, which is an SUV, comes with six airbags, belt tighteners, belt force limiters and crash-responsive NECK-PRO headrests. In addition, it is equipped with the PRE-SAFE passenger protection system, which can automatically put in place preventive measures before an accident occurs, after assessing the driver’s braking and steering behaviour. In case an accident does occur, the airbags, pyrotechnic belt tighteners and belt force limiters come into play, along with the protective passenger cell, to safeguard the passengers.
