General Motors has finally launched its much awaited luxury sedan, the Chevrolet Cruze, in India. Priced between Rs 10.99 lakh and Rs 12.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Cruze comes with a 2.0 litre diesel engine in two variants. According to the Automotive Research Association of India, the new car gives a mileage of 18.3 km/litre. GM is expected to introduce a petrol version of the car within the next few months. Karl Slym, the President and Managing Director of GM India, told media persons that the Cruze has received rave reviews from the markets where it has already been launched, and is expected to give tough competition to other D segment cars in India. He also said that GMโs investments in manufacturing the Cruze in India showed that the company was committed to making Chevrolet the most admired car brand in the country. GM will also launch its mini car, the Beat, in India by the end of this year.
